There is literally so much amazing music in the universe – it can be hard to say what my favorite genre of music really is… but if I look at the multi personality that is my Spotify account, I suppose the tale would be that it falls within the realm of rock. There are different types of rock, ya know. I was an 80s/90s kid so the hairbands, grunge, alternative, and heavy metal are my go to varieties of rock. Steven Tyler is seriously one of the first voices I can remember as a child. Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison, Guns N Roses are some 80s early 90s that come to mind. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Incubus,311, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Metallica, The Cranberries, Foo Fighers, Oasis, Weezer, Bush, Silverchair, Blink 182….. MAN! Soooo many great bands and I know I am missing a ton and will be mad when I look back at this and think about some I didn’t mention!!
Is this even a post about rock music if I don’t mention Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Who, Deep Purple, Queen, Rush, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, The Beatles, Kiss? What about the newer stuff… I’ve really got into Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Beartooth… etc. I feel like I am merely scratching the surface of all the amazing bands of the past and of the new… Maybe I’ve introduced you to some new bands (probably not, I think these are all pretty big names). What bands have I missed? What are your old or new favs? Inspire me!
Just an “oldy but goodie” that helps me relax and just be grateful of all the roads I’ve traveled and for those who have stuck along for the ride. ❤
